Many photographers pride themselves on their
technical knowledge. They immerse themselves in studying
the specification of very new lens, camera, filter and gadget
that comes onto the market. There seems to be
great comfort and security in attaining such technical knowledge.
But all too often, this is used as a blanket to conceal a
lack of creative ability. Great art grows from
the mind, the camera is only the tool. As are the painters
brushes, the sculptors chisels. They are partial means
- but not the way. |
